Footloose
Pinewood Bowl, Inc. is pleased to announce that they will be producing Footloose nightly (8:30 pm curtain) July 9-12 and July 16-19, 2009, at Pinewood Bowl Amphitheatre in Lincoln’s Pioneers Park. Support form the community has kept the tradition a success and ensures the future of family-oriented, high quality, affordable entertainment in this unique and beautiful outdoor setting.
Footloose follows the story of Ren and his mother who move from Chicago to a small farming community. While not happy about moving Ren prepares himself for an adjustment period, but he did not expect to be moving to a community that is determined to exercise its control over the town’s youth, including a ban on dancing. Ren sets out to challenge this control and in the process makes many friends and enemies. The show features an Oscar and Tony nominated score. Footloose was adapted for the stage by Dean Pitchford and Walter Bobbie, with music by Tom Snow and lyrics by Dean Pitchford. We'lll have exhibits, entertainment, refreshments, and, best of all, a chance for you to re-connect with many former Pinewood Bowl participants, cast, crew, orchestra, board and friends.
But, we need your help. Would you consider providing some of the entertainment? Or maybe you could gather a group from your favorite cast to do a number! Or just come and help us celebrate. Please let us know by emailing us at diamondcelebration@pinewoodbowl.org
