Potential Board Restructure
  • How do we accomplish all of our objectives without burning out highly involved board members? Many hands make light work. This is the year to restructure in order to set the right tone for new production staff. If JD is willing to make sweeping adjustments to be a part of our production, we have to show him the same level of commitment.

  • We want to create a fully "working" board as opposed to simply "advisory." Key roles for each committee have been identified. The propsed org chart can be found below and at pinewoodbowl.org/2025orgchart

  • Board members need to indicate what work they are energized to do by filling out the survey below (also located at at pinewoodbowl.org/boardsurvey) by January 31. Just because you indicate interest does not mean you are committing to doing it or that you are staging a coup to oust the person who currently holds the position. It’s just useful for Exec to have as much info as possible when making assignments now and in the future.

  • Every Board member will need to commit to one role. Ideally only one, but two at the most depending on scope of job.

  • Chairs of committees will be determined by committee members. Being a Chair is not a role. It is simply organizational responsibilities that are added on to a person's primary role.

  • Non-Exec committees are required to meet every other month. On the off months, Chairs are required to meet to discuss shared initiatives.

  • Once roles are assigned, we will discuss  the “chain of command” for conflict resolution/obstacle jumping so we can ensure no board member is on an island for accomplishing tasks or for dealing with issues.
